Diamond Resorts, LLC took over all Sunterra Corporation business enterprises in April of 2007. Since taking over Diamond Resorts has not made any serious modifications to the existing Sunterra programs.
There are Diamond Resorts timeshares in all the obligatory vacation destinations such as Las Vegas, Orlando, Hilton Head Island, Colorado, California, Hawaii and Cancun. However, if you are looking for Diamond Resorts timeshares a little more off the beaten path there are also timeshare resales available in Texas, Whistler, Italy, the Canary Islands and Austria.
Diamond Resorts owns one of the United States' most renowned timeshare resorts, Polo Towers. Polo Towers is the first high-rise resort to be constructed on the Las Vegas strip.
Since the April 2007 acquisition of Sunterra Corp. Diamond Resorts International has reformatted its points-based system to become simpler and easier for members to use. The points-based system has been renamed THE Club SM and an initiative to upgraded the quality of the resorts in the network has been instituted.
Diamond Resorts International CEO, Stephen Cloobeck, has introduced a growth plan in order to give members more choices and present unique destinations. That project is in the process now. The company already has resorts in 17 states across America and 14 different countries worldwide.
